| When one of the electric windows of our Toyota minivan went wonky recently (moving up and down at an angle), the local dealership said they couldn't fix it, and we should go to a "glass repair shop". The glass repair shop, without looking at the van, told us on the 'phone "Sounds like the entire assembly needs to be replaced?that'll be $500 at least..." That didn't sound right to me, so I contacted Big O Tires, who've done various repairs and services for us in the past, quickly and at a reasonable cost. "It's either a faulty regulator, or the glue has come undone," Big O Tires told me on the phone. Bring it in next week?we'll order the replacement regulator in the meantime." In the event, the new regulator wasn't needed. They reglued the glass pane into the mechanism, put the pane back properly in its track, and the window works as new. Cost: $150. Big O Tires have confirmed our faith in it as our go-to repair shop in Victoria ? big time. |
